의형제/Secret Reunion/Blood Brothers (2010)

Secret Reunion/Blood Brothers의형제
Director: Hun Jang
Release Date: 2010.02.04 (Korea)
Cast: Kang-ho Song, Dong-won Kang
    (Source: naver.com)

Synopsis:
Lee Han-kyu, an agent of NIS, and Song Ji-won, an assistant of “Shadow”, first meet 6 years ago as enemies. Han-Kyu looks for the North Korean spy, “Shadow”. However, the operation goes terribly with many deaths, so he gets blamed and gets fired. Ji-won gets accused of being a traitor, so he gets abandoned by Shadow.
6 years after the event, they meet again coincidentally and start working together while hiding their identities. They start to understand each other and build friendship and loyalty. But Ji-won once again gets a command from the North…

This movie is pacted with action (in the beginning and towards the end), and you would be able to see the deep friendship between two men who initially started out by trying to get something out of them.
Here are some screenshots (of Kang Dong Won mostly):

The Holiday (2006)

Okay, I decided to greatly reduce the length of my posts because no one would want to read a super long and boring… post.

I watched The Holiday right after watching Knight and Day (maybe I should write about this next) and fell in love with it instantly. Also, I became a fan of Cameron Diaz – she’s so cute despite her age!

The Holiday (2006)
Director:
Nancy Meyers

Writer:
Nancy Meyers

Release Date:
8 December 2006

Basically, Amanda and Iris both have complications with guys, and they both decide a vacation to a different country wouldn’t hurt. Amanda finds a home exchange program online which leads her to find the cottage in Surry, England – Iris’s house. So Iris goes to Amanda’s house in L.A., and Amanda goes to Iris’s. They end up finding a new love!!

Well, my little summary makes the movie look really boring, and the plot may sound very typical, but I really enjoyed watching this movie. Personally, I liked Amanda’s love story better because Graham (Jude Law), her new boyfriend, is adorable and sweet and HOT. & gotta love his British accent. :D

Graham is such a sweet man; I wish to find a man like him in the future hehehe. He says in the movie that he’s a “major weeper”. Aw, how adorable! And he’s able to change Amanda who was so detached from love and emotion.

I think it’s safe to say that I love this movie because of him. He makes their love so cute and lovely!!

He is Mr. Napkinhead <3 (you’ll know what that is once you watch the movie)

Iris! She is such a kind person, way too kind… so she gets hurt so often:
I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade.

Iris, too, changes. She becomes the “leading lady of her own life” and gets “gumption”.

Miles is just like Iris in a way. He too has a very kind personality.
One of my favorite quotes:
"Iris, if you were a melody... I used only the good notes."

I just want to add lastly… The soundtracks were absolutely gorgeous…

タイヨウのうた: Midnight Sun/A Song To The Sun (Taiyo no uta) / (2006)

I want to start off my post by saying a general, but very personal, thought about Japanese movies since A Song to the Sun is a Japanese movie. Japanese romance movies are very typical. Usually, the plots are consisted of sweet, cute loves between main characters, but in the end either the girl or the boy dies from a disease. In addition, the plots could be childish. However, Japanese romance movies are so addictive (for me at least). Even though I could see the ending right from the beginning, I always end up crying… Also, their sweet, cute loves are so satisfactory to watch because it makes me wonder if such loves are possible in real life.
タイヨウのうた: Midnight Sun/A Song To The Sun (Taiyo no uta) / (2006)
Director: Norihiro Koizumi
Writer: Kenji Bando

SPOILER ALERT :O

A Song to the Sun’s plot falls in the category of “typical Japanese movies”, having a typical template of love and the main character’s death. But I think this movie is different in a way because the death was not dramatic like the other movies. It showed the death slowly progressing as the love progressed.
I really enjoyed the music (sang by Yui who played Kaoru). She has a pretty singing voice, and the acoustic feel was amazing.

Their first meeting! :]

She experience many new things through Koji.

A street live

He is so falling in love with her. Look at his gaze!

“Will you go out with me?”

“It’s over now. I thought having a disease wouldn’t matter…
As I expected, I guess it’s too much for me to like someone…”

“I like you…”

Hehe, that was certainly a lot of screenshots…
Hope you enjoyed my review.
I just want to include one of the music from the movie: Good-bye Days by YUI.
